Coarse Fishing in Spain by Philip Pembroke

The following example is fairly representative of the textual style found in this fishing guidebook

Algarve - Barragem Bravura (reservoir), Lagos, fed by the Odéaxere River (carp). Picturesque scenery, the lake is situated 15 km north of Lagos, the journey is pleasant. Built in 1958 with a surface area of 285 hectares. Fishing is only in the designated areas but these are clearly signposted by the bank. Bagging 40 kilos of small carp, using sweetcorn in one session is not an unusual event. Directions: Two ways. 1) Head up the IC4 along the Ribeira da Bensafrim valley towards Aljezur, where the lake is signposted to your right. 2) Go along the coast road towards Portimâo, take the EN125-9 from Odeáxere. On the lake: approach park to the left. 200 metres on is a summer café called A Recanto da Barragem and a kiddies area. (Nearby there is a small zoo). 400 metres on the road go over the dam wall. There is a walking track all the way round the reservoir.
